Know Before You Go

Travel Documents & Visa

Attendees are responsible for any expenses related to their travel documents.

To obtain a visa application, contact a Mexican consulate or embassy near you. To apply for a visa, you might be asked to provide the following:

  • Invitation to the conference
  • Verification of employment
  • Location of the conference hotel and dates of the meeting

The following countries do not require a visa to enter Mexico: Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Panamá, Perú, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Paraguay, USA, and Venezuela. If you are traveling from Brazil and you already have a US visa, you do not need a visa for Mexico.


Name Badges

Attendees will be issued a badge at the conference check-in upon presentation of their company ID. Please display your badge at all times during the duration of the conference.


Dress Code

For the Partner Welcome Reception, casual resort wear and appropriate shoes or sandals are recommended. For the Partner Award Dinner, business or resort evening attire is required.


Weather

Local weather in Cancun averages 72 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit (22-29 degrees Celsius).


Internet Access

The Resort offers complimentary wireless internet connectivity in guest rooms and public hotel areas.


Long Distance & Cell Calls

Phone calls from your room to the continental United States, Canada and Mexico will not be covered. Prepaid local international calling cards with a 01800 number can be purchased in the hotel. If you use these cards from the payphones in the lobby, the call is free of charge; if you call from your room you will be charged a US$5 connection fee, at your own expense.

Cancun's local mobile phone operators use GSM networks and have roaming agreements with most international operators. Please check with your service provider prior to departure for information on coverage and rates. All telephone charges are your responsibility and are not reimbursable.


Time Difference

Cancun, Mexico follows Central Standard Time (CST) or UTC/GMT -6 hours.


Drinking Water

Is recommended to drink bottled water.


Electricity

Mexico's electricity requirements are 110 volts/60 hz, the same as in the Canada and in the US. Remember to bring a plug adapter or power converter if required by your appliances.


Currency

The "peso" is the local currency. Visit www.xe.net for the conversion rate. Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted in Mexico; American Express has limited acceptance.


Tipping

Restaurants: Gratuities at the resorts' restaurants are included. If you are dining off-property on your own, the normal tip amount is 10% -15%.

Hotel Bell Staff & Housekeeping: Porterage and housekeeping gratuities are included in the room rate. Additional gratuities are at your own discretion and are not reimbursable.


Personal Safety

The Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort is a public facility. Your personal safety and that of your property are your responsibility. Do not leave your laptop or electronics unattended, and protect printed information.


Hotel Security

The Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort is available to assist with emergency services and evacuation from the resort if needed. Dial "0" from any guest room or hotel phone for assistance.
